Velvet Sunflower
A Van Gogh-inspired portrait in pulsing brushstrokes.
An expressive, painterly style inspired by Van Gogh’s celebrated self-portraits. The animal is translated into powerful, visible brushstrokes, lively movements of colour and an energetic background that pulses along with the portrait. Blue, teal, ochre, warm yellow and soft green may come together in a vivid yet harmonious whole. The fur feels not realistic but built up from paint and rhythm. This portrait should look palpably painted: vivid, tangible and full of character.
