A raw dry-brush portrait: scratchy, broken strokes on coarse canvas.
With an almost dry, wide brush your pet is dragged across coarse canvas so that every stroke breaks into scratchy, broken texture. The fur colours sit in a few big zones, the markings in darker drags, the eyes in two wet touches in their true colour; large parts of the figure stay bare primed canvas. Raw, honest and modern — the opposite of smoothed-over.
